Rashmi L, Director at large

My parents emigrated to Canada in the late 1990s, and I moved to Canada during primary school. I attended Rick Hansen Secondary School in Mississauga, where I learned about the Terry Fox Run and his legendary friendship with Rick. Inspired by their stories, I realized I could make a difference similarly and pursue my dreams despite any challenges.

After graduating from York University, I worked at the Canada Revenue Agency and later completed my legal studies. For over a decade, I have been running my Immigration Services practice based in Windsor, ON, with branches in Singapore, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Dubai.

Currently, I’m pursuing a Doctorate in Law (Juris Doctor) at a university in California. I currently serve the ISKCON temples in North America through my Immigration practice and help the temples recruit priests and other religious leaders to conduct various religious activities throughout the year. With this same attitude, I have joined the India Canada Association to fulfill a desire to serve and contribute to developing the community and Indian diaspora in the Windsor Essex area.

I’ve been working as a Personal Banker at BMO and I love it. It’s an amazing job that allows me to do what I love most—make people happy! I also really enjoy meeting new people every day who need support in their journey through life. Being able to share what I know with them has helped me grow personally and professionally. I also love cooking and having people over for small get togethers. I have done Catering for more than 3years and also been a part in organizing many events in Mississauga. I was a part of Toronto Bengali drama group ,TCS etc. Also I am a mom of two beautiful daughters who are my pride and have been contributing in their own little ways to serve our community.

Happy to be a part of ICA and looking forward to make a difference in our society with all the skills and knowledge I have.
